Kuma’s Corner in Chicago, IL
You know, for a foodie, I’m also a big talker. As in, I can hold a conversation, by myself, for a long period of time, and still have enough breath to keep going. Some may call me a chatterbox, others may say I never shut up. But the point is…it’s hard to make me speechless. Well, my followers, the impossible was achieved just a few nights ago at Kuma’s Corner on Belmont Ave. I honestly don’t even know where to begin! I thought, maybe it’s just a lot of hype, but oh no. Kuma’s is the best burger. I have ever. Tasted. In. My. Life! This place is just so completely one of a kind.
Here’s why:
It’s a heavy metal burger place in Chicago. Hello. As in, every burger on the menu, is named after a heavy metal band. If that’s not genius, I don’t know what is. And as if that’s not cool enough, the food is amazing. We’re talking the kind of burger that almost melts in your saliva drenched, drooling mouth because the meat patty is so tender. It’s juicy, it’s flavorful and honestly, if a burger could be beautiful, it would be a Kuma’s burger. Hands down, these burgers would win at a burger beauty contest.
This here is the Led Zeppelin burger: pulled pork, cheese, burger, and pickles. My friend Gary ordered it, and he finished it in one sitting. Here’s the thing though: this is a monstrosity of a burger. Like, if we put it side by side with other burgers, this thing would be bigger, hands down. He definitely enjoyed the hell out of it. Most of my friends, who all love Kuma’s and swear that it is the best burger ever, anywhere, will recommend the Led Zeppelin.
Now me, being me, I decided to get something nobody I know has tried, in order to be objective. So I ordered the Lair of the Minotaur, which was: pancetta, brie (yes, like the best cheese in the world), pears, and caramelized onions. Heaven on a bun. I don’t understand brie on a burger, or frankly for that matter, pears on a burger, but it works. Best burger ever! No contest. Juicy, creamy…all the things that make up a food-gasm of epic proportions for me. The flavors were complimentary in ways I don’t understand. Honestly, this should have been one hot mess of a burger, but it was mind bogglingly amazing!
Oh yeah, followers, that is the most beautiful burger ever. Here’s the thing you need to remember about Kuma’s:
-They are awesome
-They have the best burgers
-They don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait a little bit, especially if it’s a weekend
-This is a place to eat a burger while listening to heavy metal
-Be prepared for a great meal you’ll never forget!

We went there on a Friday afternoon at 2pm once and had to wait over an hour. It was worth it though!
